It is with joy that we announce that Mother Mary Alphonsa's (Rose Hawthorne) cause has advanced from Servant of God to Venerable Servant of God by the Congregation of Saints in Rome. At this point miracles will begin to be examined. Please rejoice with us! It is our hope that the heroic and holy life of our foundress will be a source of inspiration to more people.

The Dominicans Sisters of Hawthorne and Voyage Comics are publishing a new comic book on the life of the Servant of God, Rose Hawthorne. Servant of the Suffering: Rose Hawthorne is schedule for shipping in July! We are really excited about this project as yet another way of telling Mother Mary Alphonsa's (Rose Hawthorne) story of God's grace.

The Story of Mary Ann

During his Homily, Fr. Joseph shares bits of the story of Mary Ann, a young girl who was under the care of our Sisters in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta, Georgia. In spite of her cancer, Mary Ann influenced the life of many people including other patients and the sisters. The book Fr. Joseph refers to is Mission Fulfilled, written by one of our sisters, Sr. Mary Evangelist, O.P. and includes an introduction by Flannery O'Connor.
